Care & Keeping

Each carré is printed on 14 momme silk twill in Como and finished by hand. Treated with care, it will outlast trends and be passed on.

01Wearing

Apply perfume and hairspray before you tie your scarf, never directly onto the silk. Alcohol in fragrance can leave permanent marks. Take care around rings, brooches and bag clasps, which can catch the twill.

02Cleaning

Dry clean only. Choose a cleaner experienced with silk, and ask that the hand-rolled edges are not pressed flat.

If the silk is marked, don't rub it or apply water. Even clean water can leave a ring on silk twill. Take it to your cleaner as soon as you can and tell them what the mark is.

03Pressing

Between cleanings, press lightly on a low silk setting, on the reverse, with a cotton cloth between the iron and the scarf. Never press the hand-rolled edges flat. The roll is the mark of the handwork.

04Storing

Fold your scarf loosely or roll it, and keep it in its box, away from direct light. Avoid hanging it on a hook for long periods, which can stretch the twill.

Yours is one of 200 in its design, never to be repeated. Keep it well.
