Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Tara Edition collects, why, and what you can ask of us. We collect only what we need, and we never sell your data.

Who is responsible

Tara Edition (sole proprietorship), Ariënsplein 1, 7511 JX Enschede, the Netherlands, KvK 98982214, is the controller of your personal data. Questions or requests: house@taraedition.com.

What we collect and why

When you order or reserve a piece: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give it, the piece and edition number, and payment details. We use this to fulfil the contract: to process payment, number and send your piece, handle returns and answer questions. Payment details are handled by our payment providers; we do not see or store full card numbers.

For our records: order and invoice data are kept for seven years because Dutch tax law requires it.

When you join our list: your email address and, if you give it, your first name. We send you our emails only after you confirm your subscription through the link we email you (double opt-in). The legal basis is your consent; you can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every email. We write rarely.

When you write to us: your message and contact details, so we can reply. We keep correspondence for two years unless it relates to an order.

When you visit the site: technical data such as IP address, browser and pages visited, needed to run and secure the site (our legitimate interest). Analytics and advertising cookies and pixels are placed only after you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

Who processes data for us

We work with a small number of providers who process data on our behalf and under agreement with us:

Shopify, which hosts our shop, checkout, customer accounts and emails, and processes card payments through Shopify Payments;
other payment providers you choose at checkout;
delivery carriers, who receive your name, address and, where needed, email or phone number to deliver your parcel;
Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest, which measure visits and the results of our advertising, only if you have accepted marketing cookies.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred, it is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Shopify may also use data from your visit for its own services, as described in the Shopify consumer privacy policy.

How long we keep data

Order and invoice data: seven years. List subscription: until you unsubscribe. Correspondence: two years. Cookies: as stated in the cookie banner.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format and to withdraw any consent you have given. Write to house@taraedition.com; we reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you may complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or to the authority in your own country.

We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone, and we do not sell personal data.
