The House

Every life begins somewhere else.

A house built on memory, craft and connection.

01.

The tulip did.

It travelled west from the mountains of Central Asia, carried by hand.

02.

It arrived in low, wet ground that spoke another language. It kept blooming anyway.

Nobody now calls it foreign.

03.

Gardeners have a word for this: the graft.

Two living things joined, so that both continue.

In Persian, one word means both graft and bond: پیوند

04.

Neither is erased. Each remains visible in the other.

05.

We carried that idea onto silk.

Fourteen momme. Seventy centimetres square. Como, Italy.

06.

An edition, not a lot number. Never repeated.

Origin

Tara Edition did not begin with fashion. It began with a memory.

Tara's grandfather was a gardener who knew how to graft trees, allowing different lives to grow together without losing their own character.

He also wore checked shirts almost every day. Those checks became part of Tara's visual memory long before their meaning was clear.

Years later, migration gave both memories a different meaning. Today they continue to live inside Tara Edition — not as nostalgia, but as part of a living language.

Craft

Slowness is not a flaw. It is the method.

We work with a single atelier in Como, Italy, where each carré is made from 14-momme silk twill and finished entirely by hand. The hand-rolled edge takes a trained eye years to master — a detail most will never consciously notice, and one we will never skip. Every edition is limited and never repeated, because a house built on memory has no place for the disposable.

The Garden

07.

Because what is carried does not have to be lost.

Connection, without erasure.

The House is never finished. It only continues.
